BIRMINGHAM, AL (University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Edward Taub, Director of Taub Therapy Clinic and CI Therapy Research Group) Monday, June 25, 2018, 9:00 AM-11:00 AM.) I had read the article about CIAT II and was lucky enough to meet with Dr. Edward Taub and his team (including Dr. Gitendra Uswatte, Associate Director) for two hours before my presentation at UAB that day. We discussed CIAT II, CI Aphasia Therapy and his recent CIAT II studies. He had heard about my work and asked for the meeting. We were in agreement with most of the studies immersing participants with aphasia in a real-world (and therefore, intensive) therapeutic environment using day-to-day activities (diary, reading, walking, socialized, taking pictures, voice recording and frequent feedback) as part of the habit of learning and life. We agreed to look for opportunities for both of us to work together. Great day!
