AURORA, CO (Rocky Mountain Stroke Support Group, The Medical Center at Aurora, 10 AM-11:30 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017). I presented to over 35+ members of the Rocky Mountain Stroke Support Group. Marcia Dahlgren, BSN, MSHCE is the facilitator of the group and as an Outpatient Cardiac Rehab nurse at The Medical Center. It was my second opportunity to speak with the Rocky Mountain Stroke Support Group. It was packed in the Board Room and went on for 1.5 hours. I recognized about a third of the group from last year. They told me that two from their group had passed since I had seen them. They were brave and persistent. They were also very excited talking again about the conversion from stroke survivors into stroke educators. The group wants me to present for the third time next year (2018.) I provided gifts (Book one and two plus some of my note cards) to several members of the groups. I had lunch with Marcia Dahlgren, Rachel Camp, MS., CCC-SLP plus an attendee from the area, Cheryl Bruno Adam, a 1969 high school classmate from Radnor High School, Radnor, PA who heard about my work and came to attend and meet after 48 years since our graduation!
