I spoke for the third time to the group and spoke about “Aphasia, Regaining your language from a stroke.” I had met many of the people in the group the last two times I have been there including the three “Don’s” (Don 1, Don 2, Don 3) who added a fourth Don (yes, there are four different guys called “Don” in the group!)
Some in the group brought their own copies of my Books 1 and 2. I also added some new slides about plasticity, the process of recovery, and building word-finding activities in action in Book 3 for the group to see. We talked a lot of practice and the enriched environment needed to provide the inducing capability to learn. The entire group assumed the role of “Stroke Educators”! It was a great day!
