COLUMBIA, SC (Aphasia Community presentation at the Lourie Center, Aphasia Laboratory, University of South Carolina, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Friday, April 7, 2017). I spoke to about 100 people with aphasia and their family members/caregivers/friends. I concluded with a metaphor of a trim tab (the rudder for the rudder) for the speech language pathologists being the “rudder for the rudder” for aphasia recovery. There were many questions and a great lunch. After that we had a panel included Dr. Fridriksson, Dr. Bonhila (Neurologist, Medical University, USC), myself and two additional people with aphasia who described their stories. I was thrilled to get my own C-STAR Lab T-shirt!
