FAIRFIELD, CT (Stroke Educator Symposium with Carolyn Falconer-Horne, SLP at Sacred Heart University, Friday, November 11, 2016, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for Veterans Day). A group of students celebrated Veterans Day. It turned out that there were quite a few (3-4) veterans in the group. I spoke with three different groups which ran until 2:30PM that day.
First group (10 AM to 11:30 AM)—30 people plus including staff, students, stroke survivors and family members. They asked questions throughout the presentation. They used questions at the end plus a chance for people to buy many (40+) of my books.
Second group (11:30 AM to 12:15 PM)—I spoke with the family support group by themselves. The family group developed some questions and we started a good conversation.
Third group (12:15 PM to 1 PM)—I spoke with the new stroke survivors and families. The groups had questions throughout the day included motivation, stroke educators (of which they now are!) and plasticity. It was a great day all around!
