JACKSONVILLE, FL (Brooks Rehabilitation Aphasia Center, Aphasia Awareness Night, Jacksonville Baseball Grounds, Jacksonville, FL, 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2019).
What a great Aphasia Awareness Day in Jacksonville at the game including the Jacksonville University NSSLHA students, stroke survivors, people with aphasia, family and care givers, students, professors, speech language pathologist, clinicians, family, friends and Brooks Rehab family.
There were several public announcements regarding Aphasia Awareness Month throughout the game talking about aphasia. Many from the Brooks Rehab Aphasia Center (BRAC) group and Jacksonville University NSSLHA students had their Aphasia Awareness T-shirt too which was very useful while talking to other people in the crowd who had never heard of aphasia before.
It was a great start to National Aphasia Awareness Month! Plus the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp won 7-6 over the Mobile BayBears plus a picture of me with the Jumbo Shrimp Mascot! Thanks to Jacksonville University NSSLHA students and BRAC!
