It was my 7th Anniversary of my first stroke and added a slide about it. I presented “Aphasia, Regaining your language from a stroke” with a good crowd from the Thrive! Stroke Support Group with several of the same people I met three months ago at the Cooking Class at Church Health, Crosstown Concourse, Memphis, TN.
There were several questions including; isolation (and impoverished) and living alone is the antithesis of an enriched environment, socialization is a big component inducing plasticity and improvement, exercise and other energetic activities forestalling aging. We also talked about becoming stroke educators who can help other people with aphasia (PWA) struggling as stroke survivors.
