I spoke to several staff at the AHA/ASA staff in Delaware and presented “Stroke Diary, Recovery from a Stroke.” The group loved my presentation and would like me to come back at some point. I talked about the horses in the race toward recovery: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Awareness. I realized that the first three horses were getting better but Awareness was lagging. With Awareness lagging, I was still unaware that some horses were improving while still unable to gauge their improvement.
