RIDLEY PARK, PA (Taylor Hospital Regional Rehab, Stroke Support Group, Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM hosted by Bobby Rowe, Therapist).
I presented “Aphasia, Regaining your language from a stroke” to over 15 people including my brother, Rob Broussard who had his stroke in January 2019. The group was very energized and talked about motivation at the top.
One of the members (with similar deficits as my brother) talked about motivation and the start of having accomplished a small task that was SO inspiring that grew to become his mission. Improvement regardless of how small is the beginning of recovery.
We talked a lot about the changing our lexicon from stroke survivor to stroke educator. The group were inspired by adopted their new name as stroke educators!
It was a great stroke and aphasia recovery day!
