NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI (Southern New England Rehabilitation Center at the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital), 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday, April 11, 2016. Keri Kinnburgh, COTA/L, CSRS arranged the meeting with the Stroke Support group at the Southern New England Rehabilitation Center at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.  Over 50 people attended including stroke survivors, caregivers, master’s students and staff.  They moved to the auditorium after there were too many RSVP’s for the cafeteria.  They had lots of questions included, the contribution of my wife to my recovery, motivation (several questions about motivation, a big issue), and rise time (and listening processing).  They provided a copy of the sign-in sheet and had provided plenty of food, drinks, chips, cookies, and fruit.

“Thank you so much for coming to speak with us last night! The students were a-buzz after you signed off and we had a great discussion about your story and how it relates to our class information. They really learned a lot from you and I'm so appreciative!”

He gave us so much to think about and process. (3) I appreciated the presenter's information. His suggestions will help me and my sister as we manage her aphasia journey. Thank you. (4) Great foundation of information about stroke and aphasia recovery, presented in a friendly manner that led to a useful discussion. (5) I was driving and could not see visuals but the subject was important. I'm so glad someone is finally educating the world about aphasia”
