The presentation, “Implications from Open Heart Surgery—Stroke, Aphasia, and Heart Valve Disease.” The presentation provided the overarching health context of plaque for heart disease, heart valve disease, and stroke. Plaque is the biggest problem with most stenosis (narrowing of the arteries) of any kind and are typically preventable. Life style changes, healthy diet, exercise, reduced excessive drinking, reduce caffeine and stopping smoking can all prevent heart disease and stroke.
