FLAGLER BEACH, FL (Plantation Oaks Resident Association, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2019.) I presented “Aphasia, regaining your language from a stroke” for Stroke Month to a great group of residents with questions about TPA, ischemia versus hemorrhagic stroke, the need for statins, the 3 hour limit of TPA, TIA, the course of a stroke (usually 12-16 hours), aphasia, limited awareness of aphasia in the public, short-term memory issues, getting lost walking in town, the need for exercise even just walking, motivation and practice, habit and who you were before the stroke. It was a great Stroke Month Day!
